Image Library

Welcome to my image library, which is still in its initial stages as I try to build up a comprehensive stock of Derbyshire photographs.  In Derbyshire, as Sir John Betjeman once observed, there can be found every type of scenery except the sea.  It's 50 miles from Bleaklow Hill's mist-shrouded peat bogs in the north to Swadlincote's industrial landscape of former clay pits, yet they could be a world apart, let alone a county.

Thus, for my Derbyshire image library to comprehensively cover such a county will take time.  My intention is that this library will eventually consist of images of all the notable landscapes, towns, villages, historic and industrial buildings, stately homes, tourist sites, work, walks and wildlife - anything, in fact, that belongs to this area.  Since 2004, as a writer and photographer for Derbyshire Life, I have been featuring towns and villages in mid to south Derbyshire, notably Belper, Ripley, Swadlincote, Duffield, Newton Solney, Ambergate and Ticknall, and am in the process of covering 20 circular walks along the Derwent Valley Heritage Way.  I have also written and taken photos for major Derbyshire Life supplements on Ashbourne, Bakewell, Chesterfield, Derby and Matlock.  I have also produced 2007 calendars for Duffield and Brailsford and 2008 calendars for Ashbourne, Belper, Breadsall and Duffield.  I have images available from all these places and more so if you don't find what you're looking for, please contact me as I either will have it or can go out and take it!

Eventually, I will be placing stock images of the Lake District and Tuscany, although there will soon be photo art images from both places for sale in the Photo Art Gallery.
